— A victory by the United States would earn the Americans their first berth at the 2018 Confederations Cup, which will be held in Russia in May 2018.
— USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann said he is “absolutely” committed to hosting the Confederations the same way.
“We’re going to have the same strategy,” Klinsman said.

— Ecuador defeated Costa Rica 2-5, after playing a 4-on-4 for most of the first half.
— Paraguay defeated Honduras 2-4, after starting a 3-on.
