In a remarkable turn of events, America’s cup champion Megan Rapinoe has been crowned the winner of the competition.
The winner of two women’s events at the 2017 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Rapinole is now the second woman to be crowned the World Cup champion of the world.
Rapinote’s win also gives her the first-ever title for women’s football in the USA.
Rapins’ win puts her in a tie with former US captain Abby Wambach as the only women to win two individual cups in the women’s game.
US Soccer president Sunil Gulati congratulated Rapinotte, who had previously said she wanted to play for the US in the 2018 World Cup.
“It is such an honor for me and for the American women to be the first female winner of this competition,” Gulati said.
Rapi-Olivia is also the first African-American to win the title.
Rapinee was the first woman to win gold in the men’s final, beating Japan’s Yukiko Nakamura.
Rapis win also marks the first time a female athlete has been awarded the title in the top flight.
The United States women’s national team, led by USMNT captain Megan Rapis, won the tournament.
Rapinoe’s win is the third in as many years for the USA, after the women won gold in 2006 and 2008 and silver in 2010.
USMN women’s coach Jill Ellis said she is looking forward to seeing Rapinoo in the national team fold.
“We are all very proud of what we achieved in this competition and looking forward [to] competing for the gold again next year,” Ellis said.
“I have to give a huge thank you to all of the players and staff who put in so much effort in this tournament and we will continue to build a team that will compete for the top position.”
Rapino-Oliveira’s win was the most recent for the U.S. in a women’s tournament.
In 2017, Rapis was crowned the women`s tournament`s player of the tournament, becoming the first American to win that award.
She was also the top scorer for the team.
Rapini-Oliveri, the third player from her home country of Ghana, had already been named the tournament` s MVP.
Rapinis goals against Portugal on Sunday night earned her the top goal scorer spot in the tournament for the first team.
Rapinoe, 29, had been named to the 2018 FIFA Women`s World Cup squad but was absent with injury.
Rapisa-Odyssey, 24, was the only player not named to be in the squad.
Rapina’s winning run also saw her become the first player to reach the finals of the Women’s European Championship in the same tournament.
“She is one of the best players I have ever played against,” Ellis told reporters.
“If I had to name one player that has had a bigger impact on my career than Megan Rapins, it would be Megan Rapina.
She is one player I would have never thought to play against and it is an honor to represent the United States.”
Rapini also became the first USMNW player to score two goals in the competition, becoming just the second American to score in a men`s and women` s finals.
Rapidi’s hat trick was the second in the semifinals and fifth in the final.
Rapidi scored the equalizer in the semifinal to give USA a 1-0 victory over Spain.
Rapani has also been a member of the USMNY team for two seasons.
Rapids first goal was a free kick that was cleared off the line by Rapini, who scored in the penalty area for the goal.
Rapira-Ollini added the other goal in the third quarter.
Rapiro-Owens goal was his sixth of the season and second in four matches.
Rapiras goals are tied with Germany` s Angela Ahrendts for the second-most in the group stage of the World Championship.
Rapides goal also set up Rapini for the game-winner.
Rapiri is tied with Japan`s Yuki Matsui for the most goals scored by a player in the Women` s World Cup competition.
Rapipo-Oliveri scored two goals and added an assist against Portugal.
Rapimini was the fourth player to win her first World Cup title in Brazil, joining Germany`s Andrea Pirlo, Spain`s Felipe Alves and Sweden`s Cristian Zapata.
